Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-25
1. Purpose & scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") governs how you may use SnapTransfer, the large-file transfer service operated by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("SnapTransfer," "we," "us"). It supplements, and is incorporated into, our Terms of Service and should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
This Policy applies to everyone who uses the service: account holders who upload, store, and share files; recipients who download them; and anyone who uploads content through a public file-request link, whether or not they hold a SnapTransfer account. If you direct others to upload to your file-request link, you are responsible for making them aware of this Policy. By uploading, sharing, downloading, or otherwise using SnapTransfer, you agree to the rules below.
2. Prohibited content
You may not upload, store, share, transmit, request, or distribute any content that falls into the categories below. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive.
- Illegal material. Anything whose possession, creation, or distribution is unlawful in any jurisdiction that applies to you or to us.
- Malware and malicious code. Viruses, worms, ransomware, trojans, spyware, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). We have zero tolerancefor any content that sexually exploits or endangers minors. Such content is removed immediately and reported to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement, along with associated account information as permitted or required by law.
- Content that infringes intellectual property. Material that infringes any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other proprietary right. Copyright owners may submit a takedown request through our DMCA policy.
- Hateful, harassing, or threatening content. Material that incites violence, promotes hatred against people based on protected characteristics, harasses or bullies an individual, or threatens harm.
- Fraud, phishing, and deceptive content. Material used to defraud, deceive, or impersonate others, including phishing pages, fake invoices, counterfeit documents, and credential-harvesting schemes.
- Unsolicited bulk distribution (spam). Using share links or recipient emails to send unsolicited bulk messages, advertisements, or chain content.
3. Prohibited conduct
Regardless of the content involved, you may not:
- Circumvent limits or tiers. Evade or attempt to evade the size, quota, rate, or retention limits of your plan, or operate multiple accounts to obtain benefits beyond your tier.
- Probe, scan, or breach security. Test, scan, or probe the vulnerability of our systems, or breach or attempt to breach any security or authentication measure.
- Reverse-engineer or abuse automation. Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the service, or use bots, scrapers, or other automated means to overload, abuse, or extract data from it.
- Abuse public file-request links.Use file-request links to solicit prohibited content, flood a recipient's storage, or otherwise harass or harm the account holder who created the link.
- Resell or sublicense without permission. Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to the service without our prior written consent.
- Impersonate. Misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or impersonate any person or organization, including SnapTransfer staff.
4. Enforcement
Automated scanning and flagging. Every upload is automatically scanned for malware and other threats (including via VirusTotal). Files that are flagged are deleted from our storage and blocked from download.
Removal of content. We may remove, disable access to, or quarantine any content that we believe, in our reasonable judgment, violates this Policy, the law, or the rights of others.
Strikes, suspension, and termination. We operate a strikes system. Repeat or serious violations accumulate strikes that can lead to suspension or permanent termination of your account. Egregious violations — such as CSAM or distribution of malware — may result in immediate termination without prior strikes.
Action without notice. Because some violations require an urgent response, we may take any of the actions above with or without notice to you. Where practical and lawful, we will try to let you know.
No liability for removal. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable to you or any third party for removing, disabling, or refusing to transmit content, or for suspending or terminating accounts, under this Policy.
5. Reporting abuse
If you believe content on SnapTransfer violates this Policy, report it to abuse@snaptransfer.app. Please include the share or file-request link and a short description of the problem so we can investigate quickly.
For copyright complaints specifically, use the process described in our DMCA policy or contact dmca@snaptransfer.app. Following the DMCA process helps ensure your notice contains the information the law requires.
6. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time as the service and the legal landscape evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of SnapTransfer after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Policy.
